Fox News: Ex-host Andrea Tantaros is a 'wannabe' sexual harassment victim

Former Fox News host Andrea Tantaros sued her former employer last week over sexual assault allegations -- and now Fox News has fired back.

Via CNN's Brian Stelter, Fox filed a response to Tantaros's lawsuit this week claiming that she had all the characteristics of a "wannabe" sexual harassment victim who's suing just to make a quick buck.

"Tantaros's unverified complaint of August 22 bears all the hallmarks of the 'wannabe,'" the network charged in its response. "She claims now that she too was victimized by Roger Ailes when, in fact, contrary to her pleading, she never complained of any such conduct in the course of an investigation months ago."

Fox's response also slammed Tantaros for being an "opportunist" who was fired from the company back in April for allegedly writing an "unauthorized" book that breached the terms of her contract.

In the lawsuit filed last week, Tantaros's attorneys claimed that Fox News "operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny."

According to the suit, Tantaros’s trouble at Fox began when former CEO Roger Ailes called her into his office and asked her to stand up and turn around so he could get “a good look” at her. She refused to do so and, shortly afterward, she was demoted from her role as co-host of The Five to a show with lower ratings.

The suit then alleged Ailes called her back into his office at least two other times and again attempted to get “a good look” at her. When she again refused, she alleged that she “encountered hostility from the Fox News publicity department.”
