Fox News host bizarrely claims Obama obstructed justice by talking to Fox News Sunday

Fox News' Lisa Boothe on Friday bizarrely claimed that former President Barack Obama obstructed justice in 2016 when he gave an interview to her network colleague Chris Wallace.

While discussing a report that special counsel Robert Mueller is planning to scrutinize some of President Donald Trump's public statements to potentially make an argument for obstruction of justice, Boothe made a highly dubious claim that Obama was guilty of the same offense during a 2016 interview with Wallace.

"President Obama obstructed justice when he told Chris Wallace that Hillary Clinton did not put our national security at risk when she was under investigation by the FBI," she said.

Of course, Obama never personally asked former FBI Director James Comey for "loyalty" as Trump allegedly did, and he also never asked Comey if he could drop the investigation into Clinton as Trump allegedly did with the investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Boothe went on to say that the "only" case that could be made for obstructing justice against Trump was in his firing of Comey, although she then pointed out that many Democrats had wanted Comey fired for his decision to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server just eleven days before the 2016 presidential election.
