Franklin Graham begs followers to ‘pray for the president’ to counter charges Trump is ‘unfit for office’

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham on Wednesday asked his followers to pray for Donald Trump in response to charges that the president is unfit for office.

Graham is a supporter of the president, spoke at Trump's inauguration, and has visited the Oval Office.

"Some are quoted in the media saying that [the president of the United States] is 'unfit' from office," Graham noted. "Some have gone as far as to suggest he should be forcefully removed. Really?"

"During the 2016 campaign, [Trump] soundly defeated all Republican candidates and the Democratic candidate he debated," Graham claimed, despite the fact Trump lost the popular vote in the general election.

"Polls and predictions didn’t give [Trump] a chance of winning the election—but he did. And now he is keeping his word to the 62+ million people who voted for him," Graham continued, despite the fact that Trump has failed to keep his word on his signature campaign promise, that Mexico would pay for his wall.

"I just wish the Democrats and the Republicans would work with him & stop trying to tear him down," he begged.

"Nothing is gained by putting forth the lie that [Trump] is unfit," Graham argued.

"I encourage people of faith to pray for the president & his family, VP Mike Pence & his family, and all those who serve in the Cabinet & the White House," he urged.

"They need our prayers," he added.
