In yet another sad story of careless buffoons ruining nature, it seems some students from the University of Oregon recently left gigantic piles of trash on the shores of Lake Shasta in Northern California, which is part of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
Local news station KVAL 13 reports that the University of Oregon is investigating whether any of its students are responsible for leaving copious amounts of trash at the lake -- including plastic furniture, clothing, beer bottles, coolers and even perfectly new tents.
It's pretty clear at this point that some University of Oregon students were involved here since there were University of Oregon bags found among the trash, as well as a cooler with the initials for fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha that had the phrase "DO YOU WANNA DO SOME BLOW MAN?" written on the side. The National Lambda Chi Alpha organization said that it was also investigating the incident, which it said was "absolutely unacceptable," while also offering "our deepest apologies for any destruction of Lake Shasta resort and the surrounding environment."
