Georgia voters are already waiting 3 hours in line to cast their ballots early

Residents in at least one Georgia county are reportedly waiting as long as three hours to cast their votes early.

The Atlanta Journal Constitutionvisited one early voting location in Cobb County on Wednesday and found voters who had been queued up for hours.

One voter told the paper that he gave up after 30 minutes and decided to vote with an absentee ballot instead.

Voters across the state have been energized by the governor's race between Democrat Stacey Abrams or Republican Brian Kemp.

Officials expect lines to shorten when additional polling places open up on Oct. 29.
