GoDaddy: Neo-Nazi sites aren't 'morally offensive' enough for us to stop hosting them

Top internet domain registrar GoDaddy.com has a rule against hosting websites that it deems to be "morally offensive" -- and yet it has no problem hosting neo-Nazi websites like the Daily Stormer.

The Daily Beast reports that GoDaddy both hosts and offers a privacy service called Domains by Proxy to websites such as the Daily Stormer and AltRight.com that helps shield contact information from the public -- despite the fact that it warns its users to "not even think about using our service" to engage in "morally offensive activity."

This is particularly relevant because the Stormer recently vowed to "hunt down" the children of CNN staffers who helped report about a pro-Trump Reddit troll who regularly posted racist and anti-Semitic memes.

“We are going to track down your parents," wrote the Stormer's Andrew Auernheimer. "We are going to track down your siblings. We are going to track down your spouses. We are going to track down your children. Because hey, that’s what you guys get to do, right? We’re going to see how you like it when our reporters are hunting down your children."

Despite this, however, GoDaddy's Ben Butler tells the Daily Beast that this article did not cross the line into the realm of "morally offensive" content.

"We do not see a reason to take any action under our terms of service as [the article] does not promote or encourage violence against people," he said. "While we detest the sentiment of this site and the article in question, we support First Amendment rights and, similar to the principles of free speech, that sometimes means allowing such tasteless, ignorant content."

True to form, the Stormer on Thursday morning attacked the Daily Beast's article, which one of its posters described as being written by a "f*ggot" who "whines about how GoDaddy still hosts pro-white websites."

GoDaddy has not responded to RawStory's request for comment.
