Ex-GOP congressional candidate hit with arrest warrant for murder charge: report
March 06, 2024
An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Republican candidate for Congress in connection to a homicide that took place on the Las Vegas Strip last year that resulted from a fight inside a hotel room.
Daniel Rodimer, who is also a former professional wrestler, has been charged with murder in the death of 47-year-old Christopher Tapp.
Police initially thought Tapp suffered an accident, but they discovered he was involved in a fight inside a hotel room before the coroner ruled his death a homicide from blunt force trauma to the head.

As NBC3 points out, Rodimer was a professional wrestler and competed for various organizations under the ring name Dan Rodman. He unsuccessfully ran as a Republican for Nevada's third congressional district in 2020 and a Texas congressional seat in 2021.
Rodimer challenged Democratic Rep. Susie Lee for her District 3 seat in 2020, but lost the election by around 13,000 votes. He then ran as a Republican in Texas' District 6 in a special election, but lost that race as well.
In an ad campaign he launched back in 2021, Rodimer asked: "Are you sick of the BULL coming out of DC?"
"Texas has BIG Problems - we need to send a BIG FIGHTER to Congress to solve them. Send BIG DAN to Congress to put an END to Nancy Pelosi’s BULL! Let’s Make America Texas Again," the ad stated.
As of this Wednesday afternoon, there are no records to show he's been taken into custody.
When medical services arrived on the scene on Oct. 29, 2023, they said Tapp was suffering from injuries from a “purported accident.” He later died at the hospital.
According to 8NewsNow, Tapp served two decades in prison for a homicide he did not commit.
