GOP Chair says Trump may have to fly to California to bail out the embattled Devin Nunes campaign: report

President Donald Trump may be forced to travel to California to stump for Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), the San Francisco Chroniclereported Monday.

“Everything is on the table with the president and the party,” Ronna McDaniel Romney, chair of the Republican National Committee, told the Chronicle. “He has kept the last week of the campaign clear, and he’ll be where he is needed.”

Rep. Nunes traveled to Arizona last week for a photo opportunity with the commander-in-chief.

Nunes, who chairs the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has been criticized for "trying to undermine" the Russia probe.

Trump, however, has praised the Fresno Republican.

"Vote for Congressman Devin Nunes, a true American Patriot the likes of which we rarely see in our modern day world....he truly loves our country and deserves everyone’s support!" Trump tweeted in June.

Trump also lavished praise on Nunes in February.

"Representative Devin Nunes, a man of tremendous courage and grit, may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!" Trump tweeted.
