Ahead of the major GOP spending bill vote, Bloomberg's Steven Dennisreported on "HIGH DRAMA IN THE SENATE."
In a procedural move, the Republican lawmakers are hoping to vote to move forward with the so-called "big, beautiful" bill, which includes top GOP priorities. This has been described as a "key hurdle" for the bill.
"There are 50 no votes on proceeding to reconciliation. Murkowski, Rick Scott, Mike Lee have not voted. One more no vote stalls the bill. Collins voted aye. Tillis, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul have voted no," Dennis reported before the vote. "Thune keeps looking at his watch. Started off smiling. Now?"
He added, "Collins voted aye after a conversation with Thune. She said she is leaning against the bill on final passage, but passed up a chance to hold it hostage tonight."
"MURKOWSKI WALKS IN," he reported. "Talking to Crapo while Thune hovers." He then added, JD "VANCE AND MURKOWSKI talking."
