GOP operatives fear Trump is oblivious to how badly the Republicans will do in the midterms: 'He's totally delusional'

According to CNN correspondent Maeve Reston, GOP officials fear President Donald Trump is oblivious to the strong possibility that the Republican Party will suffer massive losses in the upcoming midterms.
Speaking with host John King, Reston said Trump is pumping out positive tweets about GOP candidates and their chances despite all signs pointing to a "blue wave" wipeout.
"President Trump has been putting out a lot of optimistic tweets about the midterm elections but there is a real concern among Republican operatives and donors he is totally delusional about the chances of taking back the House," Reston explained.
She went on to add that Trump may be in the dark because no one close to him is willing to tell him the truth.
"He's not focused enough on what he needs to do to keep control of the House," she continued. "That is, in part, because there are not a lot of people around him willing to tell him the truth. So they are trying to get him moving in the right direction on that."
"The president doesn't like tough news, is what you're trying to say?" a smirking King asked.
"Yeah," Reston replied.
