GOP sets up Monday conference call with RNC officials to calm panicking party members

Just days after the Washington Post revealed tapes of GOP nominee Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women, top officials of the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee wrote in a joint email on Sunday that they were committed to winning the White House come November, Politico reports.

The finance chiefs of both camps signed off on the email together in an effort to "calm nerves" over Trump being replaced on the ballot. Over the weekend, RNC lawyers were looking into whether and how to replace Trump as the party's nominee.

As of Sunday, 75 top Republicans have expressed disapproval over the nominee and more than 24 others have called for the businessman to drop out, according to NBC News.

The joint email, which was signed by Trump fundraiser, Steven Mnuchin, and Lew Eisenberg, the GOP's finance chairman and a top official in the Victory group indicated, "We have many important events planned over the next few weeks, and we look forward to our continued success."

The Victory group also revealed that it is still working to elect Trump, despite recent questions that have circulated on the matter.

Rather, the email assures supporters, "We will be scheduling a conference call later this week to update you," and "We appreciate your continued support. We are committed to have Donald Trump in the White House."

In the wake of the leaked Trump tapes, the RNC reportedly transferred funds from the presidential campaign to the National Republican Senatorial Committee in an effort to help down-ballot races as elections approach.
