Green Day’s New Year’s Eve lyric change attack on Donald Trump has struck a chord with MAGA fans — who furiously reacted online Monday.
The San Francisco rockers changed a line to their classic “American Idiot’ during a performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Eve Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest just before midnight Sunday.
Instead of “I’m not part of a redneck agenda,” singer Billie Joe Armstrong sang, “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda.”
Trump’s fans weren’t in tune with the change.
“Green Day is now Green Done,” wrote a commenter on Trump’s Truth Social platform.
“ Don’t they understand it’s no longer Hollywood Cool with the rest of us to take potshots at DJT? We the people are speaking!”
And Laura Loomer, the controversial right-wing activist once throught to be in the running to be the former president’s press secretary, tweeted that the band were “losers.”
The comments were reported by the Winnipeg Sun.
“Green Day is a woke joke,” somebody wrote, while others called the band “has beens” and "sellouts.”
“They are irrelevant and have 300 fans that might listen to them,” one person wrote.

Another suggested Green Day had been put up as part of a campaign against Trump.
“This is the B team,” they wrote. “Wait till they break out Taylor Swift.”
Though “American Idiot” was written about George W. Bush, Green Day has been a frequent critic of Trump.
