'Hard to imagine Trump will let Rosenstein leave on his own terms': National security expert

National security analyst Juliette Kayyem noted that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein might have announced his resignation, but he'll likely be shoved out the door before his end-date.

James "Mattis also resigned with hope that he could responsibly transition out," Kayyem tweeted Monday. "Mid March is a long way away in Trump time. Hard to imagine Trump let's Rosenstein leave on his own terms."

Rosenstein has become somewhat of a myth, with rumors and innuendo surrounding him. Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe doubled down on his claim that Rosenstein brought up the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment in his recent book. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow also noted that reports claimed Rosenstein was the man who stopped special counsel Robert Mueller from acquiring financial details about the president from Deutsche Bank.
