Here's how Democrats are using a 100-year-old law to get tax docs Trump is still hiding

Congressional Democrats are using a 100-year-old law to finally see President Donald Trump's tax returns.

A provision added to the Internal Revenue Act allows the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee to see anyone's tax returns.

On Wednesday, Ways and Means Committee Chair Richard Neal (D-MA) official requested the returns, ABC News reports.

“I today submitted to IRS Commissioner Rettig my request for six years of the president’s personal tax returns as well as the returns for some of his business entities," Neal announced. "We have completed the necessary groundwork for a request of this magnitude and I am certain we are within our legitimate legislative, legal, and oversight rights."

Neal had received much criticism for dragging his feet on requesting Trump's taxes.

Trump quickly said he was not inclined to share his tax returns.

Democrats in Congress were not impressed.
