Here's what Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump plan to do as Mueller closes in

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are pursuing a range of policies, Axiosreports, despite potential conflicts of interest and questions about exactly what qualifies them for top security clearances.

Ivanka is working on helping families, through the expansion of a child tax credit and paid family leave. Critics, most notably Samantha Bee, have observed that the concern for the wellbeing of women and children does not extend to the Central American families seeking asylum at the US Mexico border, where kids are being ripped away from their parents.

Jared Kushner is tasked with resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict—it's not clear what qualifies Kushner for the job of bringing peace to the Middle East.

Kushner has been praised by criminal justice advocates for pushing for reform of America's criminal justice system, although so far President Donald Trump's most notable pardons have been Scooter Libby, Joe Arpaio and on Thursday, conservative provocateur Dinesh D'Souza, who pleaded guilty to campaign fraud.

The couple has assured friends that they plan on staying in the White House for a long time, but as Axios notes, "The great unanswered mystery is whether they leave D.C. on their terms or Mueller's,' Axiosobserves.
