Senior White House aides are reportedly "unnerved" by Donald Trump's increasingly erratic public behavior -- and are worried by the prospect of him spending weeks "unsupervised" during the holidays.
Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman reported Tuesday that according to one former Trump administration official, "the staff is fed up."
"He’s acting like a nut," the official told Sherman. "They can’t get him to stop tweeting."
Because the president is able to "compartmentalize," his moods have "yo-yoed," the report noted.
While attending a White House Christmas party with his children, outgoing Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and others, Trump was "jovial" -- but other signs point to just how precarious his temperament has become.
One source told Vanity Fair that Bill Shine, the former Fox News anchor who now acts as West Wings communications director, is "very frustrated" and is considering " signing a month-to-month lease for his Washington apartment."
Staffers expect even more departures amid the shakeup from outgoing chief of staff John Kelly.
"I want them all out," Trump reportedly told officials of Kelly's loyalists, a source briefed on the discussions told Sherman.
