Hillary Clinton wins South Carolina primary

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won big in South Carolina's primary on Saturday, according to projections by CNN and CBS News.
Clinton won out over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in a sweeping victory. Clinton has been the projected winner in the state, with a clear lead in polls running up to the vote.
According to the New York Times, Clinton won overwhelming support from African-American voters. She showed an early lead in exit polls and the Associated Press called her victory shortly after polls closed at 7 p.m. local time.
The Times called the Southern victory a psychological and political boon for Clinton, who has faced hair-raising near-ties with Sanders in Iowa and Nevada. Sanders beat her in New Hampshire.
It gives her momentum going into next week's looming Super Tuesday where candidates face off in 11 states simultaneously.
