Homeland Security debunks Trump’s outrageous terrorism claims — one day before his primetime address: reports

The Department of Homeland Security on Monday corrected disinformation by President Donald Trump and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

NBC News reported that only six immigrants in the terrorism database were stopped by Customs and Border Patrol along the southern border during the first half of 2018.

"The low number contradicts statements by Trump administration officials, including White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders who said Friday that CBP stopped nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists from crossing the southern border in fiscal year 2018," NBC News explained.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen claimed the exact number was classified.

CNN senior Congressional reporter Manu Raju also reported on a report DHC issued in September that reads, "At year’s end there was no credible evidence indicating that international terrorist groups have established bases in Mexico, worked with Mexican drug cartels, or sent operatives via Mexico into the United States."
