House Intel refers Eric Prince for prosecution on six counts of lying to Congress

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has referred Blackwater founder Eric Prince for prosecution.

On Tuesday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) sent a four-page letter to Attorney General Bill Barr, urging him to open an investigation into the matter. The four-page letter has a sixteen-page appendix laying out their charges.

Prince is a close Trump advisor whose sister is Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

Schiff's letter cites special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

"As the report makes clear, evidence obtained by the special counsel, including statements provided to the special counsel by both Mr. Prince and Mr. [George] Nadler, differs materially from Mr. Prince's testimony, under oath, before the committee on November 30, 2019," Schiff wrote.

"The report reveals that Mr. Prince's testimony before the committee was replete with manifest and substantial falsehoods that materially impaired the committee's investigation," he explained.

The letter details six alleged lies to Congress about Prince's meeting with Russian oligarch Kirill Dmitriev in the Seychelles.
