How Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter are tearing the Duggar family apart

There's a noticeable split when it comes to the Duggar family and the Black Lives Matter movement.

As the Inquisitr notes, one Duggar daughter's family is in support while the other married daughter's in-laws and husband are against and ready to promote boycotts and firing. But the divide is worse among at least one of the young Duggar husbands.

It's no secret the Duggars are right-wing conservatives who advocate anti-choice policies, promote their religious doctrine of women not wearing pants and never cutting their hair. But how that impacts the police shootings of unarmed black men is something else.

Jessa Duggar's husband Ben Seewald has indicated on more than one occasion that he's not sold on the family's right-wing ways. When it comes to the death of Terence Crutcher and the protests that followed, Seewald retweeted evangelical preacher Russell Moore, who pleaded with followers saying that the "situation has to change."

January, Seewald did an interview with rapper Flame, discussing systemic racism in the United States, specifically citing the shootings in Ferguson and Baltimore. He did the same last year when interviewing Dante Berry about how Christians should respond to racism. There, however, Seewald blamed racism and violence on the Devil and evolution.

Seewald came out of the closet questioning Republicans and suggested that voting for a Republican would not "make America great again." That said, Seewald did claim that the promotion of God over politics was the way to go. A few weeks ago, Seewald also smacked down the show's fans for insulting President Barack Obama. In a post on Instagram asking for prayers for the president, Duggar commentators devolved into an anti-Obama birther conspiracy-fest. Seewald intervened, saying, “You can pray for a political leader and not agree with all of their views."

Seewald also pulled out some scripture to tell Duggar fans to silence their ways. “Also, before calling a leader (or anyone else) by a derogatory term, consider this: 'Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.' – 1 Peter 2:17."

Jill Duggar Dillard's mother-in-law, on the other hand, is boycotting the NFL as African American players across the country protest police violence against people of color with an act of civil disobedience.
