‘I invented futons’: Wacky Trump supporter promises to help vacationing president ‘drain the swamp’

President Donald Trump arrived at the Palm Beach International Airport Tuesday evening as the sun set, to a crowd of adoring fans. One of them might be more famous than Trump knew.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Trump visited with supporters for about 18 minutes, which, they noted, is longer than he typically does.

“It was the best one ever. He was energized, delighted to see everybody. He loves the people. That gives him energy,” former Palm Beach County Trump campaign co-chairman Sue Snowden said. She organizes the informal gatherings each time Trump flies back to Mar-a-Lago.

“He let me kiss him on the cheek. How do you like that?” said 90-year-old artist Doone-Merena . “It was fabulous.”

However, one woman seemed to want to urge the president to work more diligently on draining the swamp, a 2016 campaign promise. Trump's White House has pivoted to explain that what he meant about "swamp dwellers" were Washington insiders, not the lobbyists, millionaires and billionaires he has appointed to his administration.

“I invented futons. I know how to drain it,” the woman explained. She didn't clarify how futons were similar to the Beltway swamp, however.

The Post noted that William Brouwer is credited with the creation of the futon in the late 1970s, and are a traditional Japanese brand of furniture.
