Fox News host spars with Harris adviser who calls Trump a 'faded image of his former self'

Vice Kamala Harris' senior adviser took repeated jabs Friday afternoon at former President Donald Trump on Fox News.

Ian Sams calmly fielded questions from anchor Neil Cavuto, who frequently felt compelled to shout over the Harris spokesperson to repeat Trump's talking points.

"He seems awfully moody," Sams said. "That's the choice people got to see on stage in a debate."

Cavuto attempted to correct Sams on his takedown of Trump's economic policies, but the spokesman continued to list off key Harris talking points about economists who fear Trump would ignite an "inflation bomb."

Sams scoffed at claims that Harris had an easier time at the debate because ABC News moderators hadn't been as rigorous in fact-checking her claims.

"The funny thing about fact-checking is it only is relevant when you're telling lies and the vice president wasn't telling lies on stage," Sams said. "It's also quite telling of a candidate who's complaining about the moderators how he performed in the debate."

Sams admitted he was unsurprised that Trump took Harris' bait when she taunted him about the size of the crowds who flock to his rallies.

"I think it really is emblematic of what we would see if Donald Trump gets elected to the White House again which is someone who's going to be completely unrestrained," Sams said.

Cavuto then tried to back up Trump's claims.

"When it comes to crowds at his rallies, he does pack them in," Cavuto said. "His crowds are significantly bigger than Kamala Harris, would you acknowledge that much?"

Sams would not.

"I'm not sure if you're watching crowds and rallies over the last couple of months and I don't think that's the case," Sams said. "We've seen a lot of people who are wandering off in the middle of his 45-minute-long rants about electric sharks and Hannibal Lecter."

Cavuto then argued the number of people aren't wandering away in big numbers and that Trump had an uncanny skill for entertaining a crowd.

"He used to," Sams said. "He's a faded image of his former self...we are on season 9 of the show and maybe they lost the plot a little bit and I think we would prefer a new set of characters."
