Illinois senator calls President Obama the 'drug dealer in chief' for Iran payment

Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) is in a tight reelection in a blue state where Donald Trump has caused Kirk a lot of problems. Now it seems the desperate senator is going the Trump route in revving up the anti-Obama base with as much inflammatory language as he can amass.

"We can't have the president of the United States acting like the drug dealer in chief," Kirk told the State Journal-Register at an editorial board meeting in Springfield.

Kirk continued, claiming that Obama is “giving clean packs of money to a ... state sponsor of terror. Those 500-euro notes will pop up across the Middle East. .... We’re going to see problems in multiple (countries) because of that money given to them.”

The administration was upholding an arms deal from the 1970s. The administration withheld the payment until they knew for certain hostages were being released.
