'I'm straightly not answering your question': Scaramucci's bizarre evasions leave CNN's Cuomo flummoxed

CNN's Chris Cuomo conducted a lengthy interview with incoming White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci on Wednesday -- and came away baffled by the new Trump administration member's efforts to evade his questions.

At one point during the interview, Cuomo asked Scaramucci if Trump was planning to fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom Trump had described as being "VERY weak" on Tuesday morning.

Scaramucci responded by saying that he would like for the two men to come together and talk about their differences, although he recommended that everyone in the West Wing "have a tough skin" about receiving criticism from the president.

"Have they spoken?" Cuomo then asked Scaramucci of Trump and Sessions.

"I don't know the answer," Scaramucci said.

Turning to the question of leaks, Cuomo asked Scaramucci if President Trump had specifically asked him to fire senior assistant press secretary Michael Short, who resigned on Tuesday amid rumors that he was responsible for leaking information to the press.

"I [won't] answer the question," he said. "You see, I'm getting so subtle and surgical in terms of the way I talk."

"Did the president tell you, 'Get rid of this guy, he's one of the leakers?'" Cuomo asked again.

"I'm not going to answer that question," Scaramucci replied.

"Why?" Cuomo asked.

"Because I just said I wasn't going to answer it," Scaramucci said.

"I know, but what happened to being straight?" Cuomo asked.

"I'm straightly not answering your question," Scaramucci said.
