A central Indiana pastor was arrested Monday and charged with stealing from a Goodwill store.
Denis Roy, pastor of New Day Church in Brownsburg and a police department chaplain, was charged with misdemeanor theft, reported WXIN-TV.
Store employees followed the 45-year-old pastor out to the parking lot about 3 p.m. after they allegedly spotted him stealing clothes.
Police said Roy admitted to the theft, and they don’t think it’s the first time he’s stolen from the thrift store.
Roy was freed on $3,000 bond shortly after his arrest.
The case remains under investigation, and police will review Roy's role with the department.
