'It was pathetic': CNN's Jeffrey Toobin blasts Corker's 'sense of entitlement' for refusing to answer basic questions

Shortly after Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) attempted to shut down CNN host Wolf Blitzer's "malicious" questions about his decision to vote "yes" on the GOP's tax bill after deriding it for raising the deficit, a fellow guest on the show slammed the Tennessee Republican.

"It was a wonderful illustration that the sense of entitlement that people get on Capitol Hill," commentator and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said.

When Blitzer continued his questioning of Corker's decision to flip his vote after a provision was added that may benefit his businesses, the senator appeared flummoxed, the legal analyst added.

"He had no answer," Toobin said. "It was pathetic."

Prior to the last-minute addition to the bill that is said to provide loopholes to real estate LLCs like the ones Corker owns, the senator said he would not support the bill if it adds to the deficit. He later changed his tune and even admitted the bill could add $500 billion to the national deficit, Toobin noted, though some estimates say it could add as much as $1 trillion or more.
