President Donald Trump on Monday snapped at reporters when they asked him why he was refusing to send his own attorneys to the House impeachment hearings this week.
While talking with reporters, the president railed against the House Democrats for pursuing impeachment charges against him. A reporter then asked the president why he wouldn't at least send a member of his own legal team to the hearings to represent him.
"Because the whole thing is a hoax!" the president shouted. "Everybody knows it!"
The president went on to repeat his blatant lie from earlier in the day about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky supposedly exonerating him in a new Time magazine interview, despite the fact that Zelensky actually criticized the president for withholding military aid to his country during a time when he's at war with Russian-backed forces in Eastern Ukraine.
