With a bit more ceremony than it probably deserved, the state of South Carolina removed the flag of the Confederacy from in front of the state capital Friday morning to the horror of surprisingly few people on Twitter where responses were overwhelmingly positive.
While the vote by South Carolina lawmakers was strongly for removing the flag associated with treason against the United States, some hardliners were still refusing to surrender 150 years after the war between the states ended.
