Famed Democratic strategist James Carville used a Fox News appearance on Wednesday to tell President Donald Trump how to bring down energy prices. Host Laura Ingraham quickly made clear that the Iran war wasn’t her idea.
Carville laid out what Democrats should do if they win back power, then turned to the war.
“You want to bring energy prices down, get out of Iran,” Carville told Ingraham on “The Ingraham Angle.” “He had no business being there in the first place. No one wants you there.”
Ingraham cut in to distance herself.
“Don’t look at me. I wasn’t for it. I was never for it,” she said.
She then pivoted to blaming Democrats, saying they “have always loved France and Italy’s gas price.”
“I don’t know any Democrats like higher gas prices,” Carville answered.
He kept hammering on Iran later in the segment, saying the administration has “to get out of Iran like yesterday.” He also pointed to Trump’s economic record and said the inflation rate is no lower than when Joe Biden left office.
“This administration’s policies have been a failure. Everyone knows that,” Carville said.
Ingraham then asked about Carville’s prediction from earlier this year that Trump will leave office by Easter. He said he still believes it.
“Because he is an old man and he is not particularly a hard man,” Carville said. “I think he is going to get really bored and when you lose one this big, people don’t really pay attention to you.”
Ingraham, a longtime Trump ally, has been one of the few prominent Fox hosts to question U.S. military involvement in the Middle East.
