Former FBI Director, former Republican, and current Donald Trump critic Jim Comey Monday afternoon took to Twitter to post an April Fool's Day joke, and it did not go over well. In fact, it really pissed a lot of people off.
"I’m in," Comey tweeted, posting a photo of him standing in the middle of a road, seeming to announce a presidential run. "We need someone in the middle."
He added the hashtag "#2020."
Comey then clarified: "Happy #AprilFools. #VoteDem2020"
Clearly his April Fool's joke landed like a lead balloon, with some remembering how he changed the course of the 2016 election with his October 28 announcement he was re-opening the Clinton email investigation – days before voters went to the polls.
