Vice President JD Vance's interview during the Sunday morning shows set off alarm bells for one analyst.
Tim Miller, host of "The Bullwark Podcast" and former GOP spokesperson, discussed an interview Vance gave to NBC's Kristen Welker on Sunday, where the vice president suggested that Russia may be entitled to some of Ukraine's land at the end of the conflict. Vance claimed this kind of "negotiation" had settled conflicts going back as far as World War II.
Vance's answer stunned Miller, who described it as Vance's "stupidest answer" of the interview.
"There's this notion that the only way for this to end is to coddle Putin and rub his belly and treat him like he's some great leader and give a bunch of concessions to him," Miller said. "If that's your posture, that's fine. But there are no similarities, no parallels to what happened during World War II. So, read a book."
Miller added that Vance's comments symbolize the "totally warped mindset and worldview" that the Trump administration has on the Ukraine war.
"Hitler did not get any land from any other countries. Neither did Japan," Miller said. "You might remember there's an atomic bombshell in Japan."
