CNN's Audie Cornish and one of her guests mocked vice president JD Vance's stated disinterest in a foreign policy crisis.
The vice president told Fox News that the conflict between India and Pakistan was "fundamentally none of our business," although he hoped that diplomatic efforts could convince the two nuclear powers to "lay down their arms," but "CNN This Morning" panelist Jerusalem Demsas said she's paying close attention to the clash.
"I'm keeping an eye on India and Pakistan right now," said Demsas, a contributing writer for The Atlantic. "India strikes in Pakistan were deeper into the territory than than has happened in decades of the conflict – 20 people, more than 20 people died."

"I feel like you are keeping an eye on this," Cornish interjected, and she and Demsas spoke the next sentence in unison. "JD Vance is not."
"JD Vance is not keeping an eye on it," Demsas agreed. "He has said that, you know, it's not something that I guess that the U.S. has, has an interest in. I think when nuclear powers are potentially going to be in a fight, everyone in the world has an interest in that. But, you know, it's possible there's going to be an off-ramp here. There are back-channel conversations happening between India and Pakistan, and I'm hoping that that resolves that."
