Jimmy Fallon floats government shutdown game involving Epstein list: 'Just one name!'

Late night television host Jimmy Fallon floated an idea Thursday for how to make the ongoing government shutdown “fun for the rest of us,” and one involving the Trump administration releasing its trove of files on alleged co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein.

“Today was the second day of the government shutdown, and lawmakers in Congress are saying they have no idea when it will end; people are calling it the 'Grey's Anatomy' of government shutdowns,” Fallon said in his opening monologue Thursday night on “The Tonight Show.”

“If this does last a while, I think they should at least make it fun for the rest of us, right? How about for each day of the shutdown, they release one name from the Epstein list? Just one name! Why not? Keep it fun for us!”

Epstein, who died in 2019 awaiting trial for sex-trafficking charges, is well-known for his close relationships with among the world’s most elite and powerful figures, including President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Britain’s Prince Andrew and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, among many more.

However, Trump’s Justice Department declared in July that, despite having confirmed more than 1,000 victims of Epstein’s, its investigation into the disgraced financier revealed “no incriminating ‘client list,’” and that there was “no credible evidence” that Epstein blackmailed any “prominent individuals as part of his actions.”

The declaration sparked outrage from many in the MAGA world, particularly after many in the Trump administration had hyped up the scope of Epstein’s crimes, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, who just months earlier had claimed that Epstein’s “client list” was “sitting on my desk” ready for review before ultimately concluding that no such list existed.

Fallon also floated another way to make the government shutdown “fun for the rest of us,” one that involved a make up swap for the commander in chief and his number two.

“How about if the shutdown lasts a week, President Trump and [Vice President] JD Vance have to switch makeup?” Fallon floated. “Come on, make it fun!”
