Jerry Lewis goes full nutter: Syrian refugees 'are not part of the human condition'

Comedian Jerry Lewis' philanthropic efforts do not extend toward Syrian refugees, according to his remarks on the Catholic talk show The World Over earlier this month.

"Refugees should stay where the hell they are," Lewis told host Raymond Arroyo.

"They say there's a humanitarian crisis," Arroyo responded.

"Hey, nobody has worked harder for the human condition than I have, but they're not part of the human condition," Lewis argued. "If 11 guys in that group of 10,000 are ISIS, how can I take the chance? I don't want to lose another Frenchman or another Englishman. That bothers me."

The former Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon host added that President Barack Obama was "never given to understand" the nature of the threat posed by the Islamic State terrorist group.

"What I'm watching in him is uncertainty. And you don't have uncertainty in a leader," Lewis argued. "A leader doesn't give a sh*t what he does, but he gets it done."

However, the 90-year-old comedy legend did think that Donald Trump's presidential run was "great."

"He's a showman, and we've never had a showman in the president's chair," Lewis said.

"You had Ronald Reagan -- he was a bit of a showman," Arroyo noted.

"That's different. You can't make a comparison with Ronald Reagan," Lewis countered. "I can do three hours on him with just praise, he was so good."

However, Lewis was less charitable in his view of Late Show host Stephen Colbert.

"I think he's a snob. I think he's [an] elitist and snob," Lewis said.
