Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee Friday announced they're launching an investigation into Nathan Wade, a prosecutor in the Georgia election racketeering case against former President Donald Trump who has been accused of having an affair with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) issued a letter demanding Wade hand over a slew of documents linked to Willis' investigation, communication with the House's Jan. 6 investigation committee and special counsel Jack Smith, who has filed parallel charges against Trump in Washington, D.C.'s federal court.
"We believe that you possess documents and information about the coordination of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (FCDAO) with other politically motivated investigations and prosecutions and the potential misuse of federal funds," Jordan wrote. "Accordingly, we ask for your cooperation with our oversight."
This demand comes on the heels of accusations from one of Trump's co-defendants in the Georgia case.
Mike Roman, Trump's former campaign aide in the 2020 election, filed a motion Monday accusing Willis of misconduct, pointing both to the alleged personal relationship and the hundreds of thousands of dollars he's earned in his new role as special prosecutor, the Washington Post reported.

The filing claims Willis joined Wade on trips paid for from the salary, which Roman argues constitutes fraud.
The Washington Post notes, "The filing did not offer evidence to back up those sensational claims."
The filing arrived the same day Willis received a subpoena from the wife Wade is in the process of divorcing.
