Joe Biden announces his presidential bid -- and demolishes Trump for his response to Charlottesville

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday finally announced he is running for president -- and his opening launch video tore President Donald Trump to pieces for praising white nationalists as "very fine people" in 2017.

Biden started out the video by talking about Thomas Jefferson, whose Monicello estate is located in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his role in writing America's Declaration of Independence.

He then pivoted to slamming Trump claiming that some of the people who participating in a white nationalist rally who chanted, "Jews will not replace us" were "very fine people."

He said that Trump in that moment failed his test of moral leadership and left a stain on America's reputation.

"The core values of this nation, our standing in the world, our very democracy, everything that has made America America is at stake," Biden said. "That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States."
