John Oliver: This is probably the video you’ll want to watch if the world is ending

In a brief segment for Last Week Tonight, host John Oliver premiered a sign-off video in anticipation of the end of the world -- for whenever that may occur.

The host noted that CNN created a video years ago that it has held in reserve for Earth's demise, with a note cautioning: "Hold for release until end of the world confirmed."

"Oh that's great, CNN," Oliver needled the notoriously fumbling news network. "So you're going to wait until the end of the world to actually confirm something."

Showing a brief clip from CNN's video featuring a marching band playing "Nearer My God To Thee," complained that the last thing people would hear was a downbeat tune.

"A band playing a slow dirge?" he said, before adding, "Well, to be fair, it would be comforting to look at any marching band and think, 'Well, at least they'll all die too.' "

Oliver proceeded to unveil Last Weeks Tonight's own "End of the world" video -- narrated by actor Martin Sheen -- containing clips of things humanity should be proud of, including YouTube bloopers, a western saloon filled with cats, pompous actor Kelsey Grammer falling off of a stage, and one "sick basketball shot."
