Jon Stewart isn't voting, predicts Republicans will get everything but the presidency

In what may come as a surprise to his Daily Show fans, host Jon Stewart said on Tuesday that he was not going to vote in Tuesday's midterm elections.

"I just moved," he told CNN host Christiane Amanpour. "I don't know where my [polling place] is now."

Stewart explained that he moved to a new state, though he did not say where. He also told Amanpour that, based on his understanding of the people "who know these things and study these things," the Democrats were in for a long night.

"The Republicans are gonna win the Senate, they're gonna increase the house, they're gonna win the Supreme Court and the judiciary, and they're gonna win a lot of restaurants and lobbyists, they're gonna win K Street," he predicted. "So, the only thing that they don't get -- I think -- is the presidency in this election. But if it goes the way they want, enough votes, they may get that, too."

Stewart then alluded to his monologue from Monday night, saying that, based on their campaign ads, GOP lawmakers would immediately focus on the Ebola virus and the Islamic State terrorist groups if they won. He also rebuffed Amanpour's statement that a Republican wave on Tuesday meant "comedy as usual" for his show.

"This is a true changing point in American history," he said.

Update, 11:04 p.m. EST: Stewart said in his opening monologue on Tuesday that he actually did vote, but was joking with Amanpour.

"I was being flip, and I apologize for that," he told his audience, saying that the remark sent the wrong message.
