A Milwaukee judge arrested by President Donald Trump's FBI has drawn a dream team of conservative lawyers for her defense.
Steven Biskupic, former U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, will lead the defense team in the federal obstruction case against Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan, who was arrested last week and accused of helping an undocumented migrant evade federal agents, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Former U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement, who's been dubbed"the LeBron James of lawyers," argued more than 100 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court for former President George W. Bush and currently represents the law firm WilmerHale, which is suing the Trump administration over an executive order targeting its operations.
"I cannot off the top of my head think of another case in which Paul Clement — who has long been a top advocate for conservative causes before the Supreme Court — showed up to represent a criminal defendant in district court," said Reuters legal correspondent Brad Heath.
Jason Luczak and Nicole Masnica, both partners with the prominent Milwaukee law firm Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, will also join the defense team, in addition to Craig Mastantuono, of Mastantuono Coffee & Thomas.

The federal team will be led by veteran prosecutor Keith Alexander, who heads the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Milwaukee, and assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Brown Watkza, deputy chief of the criminal division in charge of financial, public corruption and other white-collar cases.
Richard Frohling is acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and will oversee the federal team.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephen Dries is overseeing the pretrial matters, and Dugan is next scheduled to appear in court on May 15.
A trial judge will be assigned by a random selection after indictment.
