Blanche snaps at 'obnoxious question': Is Kash Patel 'drinking on the job?'
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) got under the skin of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on Wednesday when he brought up reports of FBI Director Kash Patel drinking on the job and gallivanting about with his girlfriend.
Toward the end of his allotted time, the Senate Judiciary Committee Democrat paused and then began, “Let me ask about the FBI. How long do you intend to put up with that Kash Patel character?”
“Are you good with his airplane jaunts? Are you confident he's not drinking on the job? Are you sure none of his travel is a pretext for vacation activities like snorkeling, Olympics, and visiting girlfriends? Are you sure he knows what he's doing? Do you vouch for him? Do you vouch for him? Are you willing to look at whether he lied to this committee?” he asked
“That's an extraordinarily obnoxious question, senator,” Blanche shot back before offering, “And I have full faith in Director Patel and the work that he is doing every day.”
