Kellyanne Conway refuses to deny that Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Friday joined the chorus of Trump officials who pointedly refused to deny a report that President Donald Trump had instructed former "fixer" Michael Cohen to lie to Congress.

While appearing on Fox Business, Conway was asked about the bombshell report from BuzzFeed that claimed Cohen had lied to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow project at Trump's behest.

"The President weighed in on this on Twitter this morning, so I’ll refer you to that," Conway said in response to a question about the report.

Trump did not deny instructing Cohen to lie in his Friday morning tweet, and he even lobbed a thinly veiled threat at Cohen's father-in-law, whom he has implied is guilty of multiple crimes.

Hogan Gidley, the deputy White House press secretary, similarly did not deny that Trump had told Cohen to lie to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow project, and instead attacked BuzzFeed's credibility.
