President Donald Trump privately fumed at the TV coverage of Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem after the latest shooting involving a federal agent in Minneapolis, according to one CNN reporter.
Over the weekend, 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot and killed by a swarm of immigration agents during a protest in Minneapolis. Pretti was the second U.S. citizen killed by federal officers following Trump's surge of officers in the city. The killings have sparked bipartisan scrutiny of the Trump administration's immigration regime and of Noem, who is facing calls to be impeached or fired.
CNN reporter Kristen Holmes revealed on "The Arena" on Tuesday that Trump was angry with Noem's public statements about Pretti's killing because they made the administration "look bad."
"President Trump was agitated watching the coverage, specifically watching Secretary Noem and Bovino go up there and what he believed wasthey made the administration look bad," Holmes said. "Their talking points aroundthe events that unfolded, theshooting of Alex Pretti, particularly noting that some ofthe things that they were sayingjust didn't match up with thevideo."
Trump held a more than two-hour meeting with Noem on Monday night, according to reports. More than 120 members of the House of Representatives have said they support impeaching Noem. The largest union of federal employees, which represents some Border Patrol agents, is also calling on Noem to be impeached or fired.
