'Your state could be next': Embattled Michigan GOP chair sounds alarm about her ouster

Embattled Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Kristina Karamo is not going away quietly, even after the Republican National Committee declared that a vote to oust her from her job was properly done.

As flagged by NBC News' Henry Gomez, Karamo sent a letter to RNC members this week where she warned them that the party's leadership could come after the chosen leaders in their states just as they purportedly came after her.

"The RNC leadership has unilaterally decided not to recognize me as MIGOP chair, against the will of the Michigan Republican Party State Central Committee," she wrote. "To make matters worse, RNC leadership is colluding with members of a faction of just 37 percent of the state committee, individuals of Michigan's consultant class, and Ambassador Pete Hoekstra to unlawfully remove me as chair and install him in my place."

She concluded by warning them that what happens in Michigan may not stay in Michigan.

"If the will of the Michigan precinct delegates and state central committee can be unilaterally usurped by the RNC leadership, understand that your state could be next," she said.

Karamo, a failed secretary of state candidate who ran on former President Donald Trump's false claims about the 2020 election being stolen, has long spouted unhinged conspiracy theories, including claims about Democrats "selling baby body parts."

The Michigan Republican Party has fallen into financial turmoil under Karamo's leadership, and recent court filings allege that the party has been in default on loan payments for more than three straight months.
