Kyle Rittenhouse tells Tucker Carlson his trial had nothing to do with race: 'I'm not a racist'

The first interview off of his acquittal, Kyle Rittenhouse sat down with Fox News host Tucker Carlson where he explained that he isn't a racist.

The Daily Beast got an advanced video of the interview set to air Monday night. According to the excerpt, Rittenhouse said that he absolutely supports Black Lives Matter and that the people he killed had nothing to do with race.

"I am not a racist person. I support the BLM movement," Rittenhouse said after telling Carlson the case wasn't about race. "I support peacefully demonstrating."

He went on to tell Carlson that he felt like he had no choice in the matter and had to kill the two people.

"I had to do it. I was just attacked. I was dizzy, I was vomiting, I couldn't breathe," said Rittenhouse, drawing parallels to George Floyd who begged for help as police suffocated him.

Prosecutors attempted to explain to the jury that because Rittenhouse brought the AR-15 he was the one who terrified people into acting against him. After he shot and killed the first person, a crowd began shooting "active shooter," and they attempted to nab him. That's when Rittenhouse began firing at anyone who approached him.
