'Oh my gosh!' MSNBC's Mika gasps over 'rumors' swirling around Trump's 'toxic' companion
MSNBC's John Heilemann delivered a withering description of Donald Trump's "toxic" new travel companion.
Far-right influencer Laura Loomer has reportedly encouraged Trump to spread racist conspiracy theories about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, and other outlandish claims, leaving "Morning Joe" panelists puzzled over her sudden prominence in the 2024 campaign.
"Laura Loomer is the problem here," Heilemann said. "I mean that not merely in the fact that Laura Loomer is a crazed, hate speech peddler."
"Can you explain who she is?" asked co-host Mika Brzezinski.
"Well, she's one of the most toxic, most poisonous people on the far right," Heilemann said. "If there's a conspiracy theory or a form of hate speech that has ever been uttered by anybody ever in the MAGA sphere, she has propounded it. She has been banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter."
"And she travels with the president?" Brzezinski interrupted.
"She can't do Doordash because of her hate speech on delivery food applications," Heilemann continued. "She's suddenly become Donald Trump's constant companion, she is everywhere with Donald Trump. The Drudge Report was up for most of the weekend with photographs of the two of them, Trump and Laura Loomer, being handsy with each other, suggesting in straightforward terms, what is on fire on the internet and Bill Maher's show and other places, suggestions that the two of them have a relationship."
"Oh, my gosh!" Brzezinski gasped.

"Rumors," intoned host Joe Scarborough. "No evidence of that at all."
"What is she doing on the campaign?" Brzezinski asked. "Is she on the campaign?"
"I''d only say, Joe, just to say, I agree, there's no evidence of it, other than the fact that she is someone who people on the Trump campaign do not want to be traveling with him," Heilemann said.
"In Donald Trump's orbit, they do not want to have traveling with him. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thom Tillis – everyone thinks this woman is bad news for Donald Trump, yet he continues to take her around with him everywhere, which raises questions as to why. That is why it is fueling this speculation about what's going on here."
