Leaked emails show Columbus cops set up Stormy Daniels in strip club bust: report

The arrest of adult film superstar Stormy Daniels during an appearance in Columbus, Ohio appears to be pre-planned, according to emails a whistleblower reportedly leaked to the Fayette Advocate.

Daniels was arrested on July 11th for allegedly violating a law that limits touching in strip clubs. Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, immediately blasted the "bogus charges" as "a setup" he claimed was "politically motivated."

Prosecutors later dropped the charges.

The Fayette Advocate report was based on "numerous emails between several high-ranking Columbus police detectives and VICE officers" that a "whistleblower from the City of Columbus" provided.

"Inside the emails are news clippings discussing Daniels’ planned appearance in Columbus, pictures of Daniels with President Donald Trump, videos of her dancing, and even a map to the club where she would be performing, all sent days before she would pull into town on her tour bus," the Fayette Advocate reported. "The bulk of the emails that the whistleblower provided are from the email account of Detective Shana Keckley."

The whistleblower explained their motivation in revealing the emails.

“It is clear that Keckley and her fellow officers were there because of Stormy and only because of Stormy,” the whistleblower said. “The emails definitely show that the police lied about it being a prostitution and human trafficking mission."

Daniels told CBS's "60 Minutes" in March that she had unprotected sex with Trump, but the president denies the affair.
