'Dirty Cop!' Trump melts down as New York attorney general closes in with fraud case

Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Wednesday to rage against New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is prosecuting a civil fraud case that could ultimately strip the former president of control of his businesses in the state.

"The Trial in NYC brought by the Racist A.G., Letitia James, who 'convinced' the highly partisan Democrat Judge in charge of the case that Mar-a-Lago is only worth 18 Million Dollars, when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount, should be dismissed in that Peekaboo and the Judge fraudulently reduced the value of Mar-a-Lago, and other assets, in order to make their FAKE case more viable," Trump wrote. "This is yet another Witch Hunt for purposes of Election Interference."

"Letitia is a Dirty Cop who is driving business out of New York in record numbers," Trump continued. "She should be Impeached for falsification of documents, Mar-a-Lago value being a prime example. Another murder just took place in New York while she sits in a Courtroom and sleeps!!!"

James has alleged that Trump and his adult sons fraudulently inflated the value of the Trump Organization's assets in order to obtain insurance and loans, in many cases even inflating things like the square footage of units at Trump Tower.

The former president has argued that the value of these assets is subjective and that all the loans in question were repaid, so it did no damage to any of his creditors, although the law does not require that to be the case.

New York Judge Arthur Engoron has already ruled in summary judgment that James' allegations are true, and the trial this week is only about determining the scope of the damages.

He's also hit Trump with a gag order after an earlier post from the former president attacked a law clerk. The order only covers the court's staff, which does not include James.
