The New York Times released an explosive article detailing President Donald Trump's family history of "outright fraud and dubious tax schemes."
CNN's legal analyst Laura Coates outlined the biggest takeaways from The Times bombshell report during a panel discussion with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Tuesday.
"This is not the first case you've heard about the president of the United States having an issue about having to release his tax returns to defend whether or not he actually engaged in tax fraud or is not providing or reporting income," Coats said. "In a long line of things, why didn't you turn it over in the first place? What are you trying to avoid scrutiny over and now claiming you have an audit? This may be the straw that breaks the camel's back to release the information."
Former CIA official Phil Mudd was disgusted about the new insights into Trump's money. Mudd yelled as he detailed all of Trump's outrageous lies.
"So the president lied, cheated, and stole. He lied to us repeatedly starting with Obama's birth certificate. We tell our kids don't steal and cheat and lie but 40 percent say they believe his lawyers despite the fact that the president repeatedly lied and cheated. Not me — I don't buy it," Mudd said.
