President Donald Trump displayed a chart titled "Our Pool is Bigger than Skyscrapers" during a Wednesday Oval Office press gaggle, comparing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation project to the Willis Tower, Empire State Building, and One World Trade Center.
Trump stated, if the skyscrapers were laid horizontally, "it would take two or three of them to fill it in," implying the pool's width is almost 200 feet. Political analysts and observers shared reactions on social media.
"I don’t know who needs to hear this, but skyscrapers are vertical, and pools are flat," journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X.
MeidasTouch Network commented, "He keeps showing off this same chart. Unwell."
"To be fair, the way things are going in his presidency, it's only a matter of time until those skyscrapers are lying on their side," the political advocacy group Majority Democrats suggested on X.
