The announcement from Donald Trump that he is overruling Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's plan to livestream a military firing squad execution fueled a backlash among some of his MAGA faithful.
The president’s decree, posted to Truth Social on Thursday, both angered and disappointed some of his fans, with more than a few suggesting they would be willing to shell out money to watch the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan who now lives his life in a wheelchair.
Trump wrote, “I think streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan but, many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device. He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed.”
That frustrated some his supporters, with one woman responding on Truth Social with, “Well that’s a bummer.”
QAnon supporter DarQ2LighT was furious and wrote in Trumpian all-cap style, “WE WANT THE LIVESTREAM!!! GIVE US THE CHOICE TO VIEW IT!!!”
Frequent Barack Obama critic “Catlady,” fumed, “Screw this decision!! How many times have conservatives been executed in our streets! No more! Show the execution please or pay- per-view!!!”
“#UltraMAGA” military veteran MiBlueo3 agreed and suggested, “Make it a Pay Per View and then whoever wants to watch it can, take the proceeds from it and give it to the families who lost their loved ones. All those good people not wanting to see it happen can just not watch it, are they really good people or just Democrats in disguise.”
“Mr . president we respect your decision But the American people have a right to see this vile traitor executed. Why did you cave to the left they literally are murdering us citizens in the streets they attack us daily . At least allow the American citizens that want to see this vile traitor executed to have access to it . I lived in Texas and I remember this day I will never forget it . Unlike the left we will respect your decision.and that’s the difference between the right and the left,” Patriot Crusader wrote.
“Omg really? Stream it! For those weak morons just don’t watch,” veteran jwktaz7 complained.
Another frustrated QAnon fan ranted, “So WHY are you changing your mind about the live stream? WHAT are we showing We the People & the World? NOTHING. It's coming up on 10 YEARS BOSS. Time to show the World WHAT we Anons KNOW. We WILL keep fighting for the children. Yet we are tired. It's time for a Big Head slap to wake these Normies UP. — Thank you for your leadership, a tired Anon.”
